Claire Paterson WSOC Coach 2008

Claire Paterson, Head Coach

Claire Paterson was recognized as the 2006 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference and Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Women’s Soccer National Coach of the Year.

Born in Scotland and raised in Prince George, she has a bachelor’s degree in physical education, and is currently completing her master’s degree in coaching with the University of Alberta.

Claire also is a certified CSA National B License, SFA Club Coach Certificate and NCCP Level 4/5 certificate.

Her coaching experience includes five years as head coach of the women’s team at The King’s University College in Alberta, and six years as the Alberta Soccer Association’s Provincial Team Select coach.

In addition, she has coached a number of Alberta provincial and Canada Games teams to medals and championships.

Currently, she is coaching the Kelowna U16 Girls Super Y League team and is an instructor for Kelowna United in their camps and academy programs.

Peter Rochfort

Peter Rochfort, Coach

Peter has been involved in the Lakers' women's soccer program since the fall of 2000. His soccer coaching career began at the community level in 1986. He served as an assistant coach for six years for the Central Okanagan Youth Soccer Association "Selects"; during this time, the team won the provincial title five years in a row and the Girls U-15 Select team advanced to nationals. Peter also served for seven years as a coach for the Women's Predator Soccer Team in the Pacific Coast Soccer League.

He has his NCCP Level 2 certificate (practical and theory). His current specialty is goaltender training.

WSOC Assistant Coach Jeannette Paine

Jeannette Paine, Assistant Coach

Jeannette, a Kelowna native, played 4 years in the NCAA for the Fresno State Bulldogs.

Her experience as a high level goalkeeper will allow for even further specialized training of our GK's."

UBC Okanagan is excited to have a former player of Jeannette's caliber join the Heat staff.
