First Aid is available to staff, faculty & students 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. First Aid treatment can be accessed either by visiting the First Aid Room in the Student Services Center (SSC006) during regular working hours or by calling 78111 after hours for a First Aid Attendant. First Aid Attendants are equipped with a Level 2 First Aid Kit, oxygen, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) & EpiPen.
First Aid Attendants are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Campus Security provides this on-call service and is accessed by phoning local 78111. A campus Security Officer will respond to your location within 10 minutes. In the residences First Aid is also available from the Resident Advisors. Resident Advisors are Level 1 certified. For non-emergencies you are encouraged to walk to the First Aid Room for treatment.
The First Aid Room is located in the Student Services Center (SSC006) and is open during regular working hours (8:30am-4:30pm). A First Aid Attendant will be available to address your First Aid needs. For non-emergencies you are encouraged to walk to the First Aid Room for treatment.
The First Aid program was further enhanced in 2006 with the introduction of a comprehensive AED program. An AED is used to treat individuals experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest. There are two AEDs on campus, one located in Security's First Aid kit (mobile) and the other in the gym (room 020). AEDs are to be operated by trained individuals only.
EpiPens are located in the First Aid Room as well as Security's First Aid kit. EpiPens are used in the treatment of anaphylactic shock caused by an allergic reaction to such things as peanuts and wasp stings.
