Minds and Music - Season 4

The inaugural season of the Minds and Music concert series at UBC Okanagan in 2005-2006 began with a rather ambitious idea: present the world’s finest music by renowned performers, and put it all into a contemporary context through informal lectures by faculty and artists about the music, its past, and how it relates to the present.

It was philosophy professor Dr. Manuela Ungureanu who envisioned students, faculty, staff and the wider Okanagan community being brought together to experience the joy of music making and learn about its ties to our history and culture.  In making this concept a reality Dr. Ungureanu's efforts, supported by many, have greatly enriched campus life at UBC Okanagan, and have helped discover a real appetite in the community for bringing the universal language of music into our everyday conversations.
